Training in Gaelic football, hurling and basketball continue throughout the school year.
Swimming classes take place on Term 1 in the local swimmimg pool in Mallow.
We use the GAA Complex for indoor training during the Winter months.
All pupils will have a good knowledge of the basic rudiments of music and be able to play tunes on a tin-whistle. Learning other instruments, including percussion instruments are encouraged in the school. Our recitation,solo-singing, instrumental and quiz groups did well in the local Scór competitions recently.
All pupils will learn and understand the basic steps in how to play chess. Our ‘in-house’ chess tournament has gone very well this year. We wish our team the very best in the next local competitions and in the ChessforAll Tournament in Dublin.
We celebrate Roald Dahl Day and World Book Day in September and March. Children get involved in many literacy activities and competitions within the school.
We encourage all children to use art as their means of exploration, experimentation and expression. Promoting creativity in children and the ability to express this with confidence sets the building blocks for further creative thinking and inventing in our children.
