Cork Camogie Champion, Niamh McCarthy visited Scoil Aonghusa CNS during the week to display the O Duffy Cup. Niamh, daughter of Rose McCarthy was part of the Cork team who beat Kilkenny in the nerve-wrecking Senior All-Ireland Camogie Final. As part of the Active Schools Initiative our pupils are learning all about healthy food and exercise. Niamh has further motivated us to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Corcaigh Abú!!

Sincere gratitude to students and their parents who are engaging well with remote learning through Google Classroom, email and/or their books at this stage. It is now the end of term and time to take a break from school work. School will resume on April 20th. Further updates regarding school closure will be posted as advised by the DES. Covid-19 update (24.03.2020): Joe McHugh, Minister for Education, has confirmed that schools will not re-open on March 30th. Your child’s class teacher will be in touch this week to support your child’s learning and wellbeing during this period of uncertainty. Covid-19: Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, in collaboration with the National Public Health Emergency Team, has closed all schools for a period until 29 March 2020, to support efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19.
All students are urged to practice social distancing, and to minimise physical contact with each other, to help avoid the spread of Covid-19. This should include minimising social contact, avoiding meeting up and keeping physical space between them. Parents and guardians are urged to support their children to maintain this approach.
Your child has been assigned work to complete during this period of school closure. Stay safe!
Applications for Admission 2020/21: There are a limited number of spaces available for September 2020. Application forms are available at the school office. They can also be downloaded from the school’s website, under the ‘Enrol’ tab. The deadline for receipt of applications was February 14th. Applications received after this date will be processed as per the school’s Admissions Policy. Please note, Applications for Admission do not constitute an offer of a place, implied or otherwise.
STEM: Scoil Aonghusa CNS has been awarded the Discover Science and Maths plaque for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths ( STEM) excellence. We have also been awarded our 5th Green Schools Flag for Biodiversity and Our Health Promotion Flag.We are very proud of our boys and girls for these wonderful achievement
