We are currently working on the theme of Biodiversity in our Green Schools Programme. Biodiversity is the fifth Green Schools theme and looks at steps which can be taken to increase awareness of the importance of native plants, animals and habitats, and increase species-richness in the locality. Our Green Schools Committee is made up of children from first to sixth class. Each class are undertaking varies projects in the school environment around the theme of biodiversity as part of our action plan. Our 5th and 6th class have been planting bulbs by the river walk. The sun shone on Friday last, as our 3rd/4th class football team proudly donned their new School jerseys for the first G.A.A tournament of the year. Many thanks to the Parent’s Association for sponsoring our school jerseys and well done to our smiling football team, who represented their school impeccably at this inter-school non-competitive event. Scoil Aonghusa CNS has been awarded the Discover Science and Maths plaque for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths( STEM) excellence. We have also been awarded our 5th Green Schools Flag for Biodiversity and Our Health Promotion Flag.We are very proud of our boys and girls for these wonderful achievement
