One million steps challenge

In association with Mallow Community Health and Mallow Credit Union our 4th, 5th & 6th Class pupils are taking part in the 1 Million Steps Challenge. A pedometer counts the number of steps each child takes each day. Using a pedometer can be a fun way to see how active you are and can help you to be more active. All children should be active for at least 60 minutes per day. A pedometer will be given to each child for a week (Monday – Friday inclusive). At the end of school each day the total number of steps taken will be recorded on our chart. The challenge will culminate in a ceremony on the 22nd of June where pupils will be presented with certificates along with all the other pupils on Mallow taking part in this initiative.

Using your pedometer
 1.  When starting make sure it is set at 00000
 2. Put it on the waistband of your skirt or trousers above your hip and it will count every step you take
 3. Do not shake it or put it in your pocket as it won’t count your steps properly.
4. REMOVE PEDOMETER BEFORE WASHING YOUR CLOTHES.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
